Summary: The Bts Skytrain has been in service since 1999 and is one of the main public transportation systems in Bangkok. The 60 km long tracks span over the metropolis and provides jobs and an efficient way to travel across the city. (Source: www.bts.co.th). This Essay will follow one of the two main routes from beginning to end, from start to finish.
Early in the morning, the first trains of the Sukhumvit route leave their station at Bang Chak to begin their service.

Som Jit, age 26, is from Udon Thani and came to Bangkok 3 years ago to find work. He has been working for the BTS for 2 years.
Late in the evening a group of people is leaving the train station.
A train conductor is signaling to a security officer at the other end of the boarding platform.
Mo Chit Station 12.00 at midnight. A security officer is checking the train for any people or belongings still on the train. It is the end of the line and this train has done its service for the day.
